Cobles

The home ground of the coble is the North East coast of England from the Humber to the Tweed. It is among the oldest of inshore fishing boats, and considered by many as the finest. It is one of the few traditional British working craft still earning a living today.
In Yorkshire, coble is pronounced with a short 'o', as in wobble. North of Seaham, the 'o' is pronounced long, as in noble.
